Description

ABB EL3040 EasyLine EL3000 Series Continuous Gas Analyzer is a wall-mount continuous gas analyzer designed for industrial process monitoring and emission measurement applications. The EL3040 provides continuous measurement of up to five gas components depending on the integrated analyzer module, including photometer, paramagnetic, electrochemical, thermal conductivity, and zirconium dioxide sensors. Built in an IP65 wall-mountable housing, the EL3040 supports customizable analog outputs (0/4-20 mA), digital inputs/outputs, and serial communications via Modbus, Profibus, or standard Ethernet interfaces.

Installation Guidelines

  • Mounting: Wall-mount housing requires a clearance of 360 mm to allow the front door to swing open completely.
  • Housing Purging: Housing purge is mandatory when measuring flammable gases in model EL3040. Purge gas flow rate must be maintained between 10 l/h and 20 l/h at a purge pressure of 2-4 hPa.
  • Electrical Isolation: The main power supply is galvanically isolated from other circuits by reinforced/double insulation (PELV on low-voltage side). Connect main power using the supplied 3-pin plug per EN 60320-1/C14.
  • Cable Wiring: Maximum terminal capacity for stranded or solid conductors is 1 mm2 (17 AWG). Use wire end ferrules with a maximum conductor cross-section of 0.5 mm2 crimped via Weidmuller PZ 6/5.
  • Grounding: Potential compensation connection supports a maximum wire size of 4 mm2.
