Description

The 3500/65-01-CN provides 16 channels of continuous temperature monitoring , accepting resistance temperature detector (RTD) and isolated tip thermocouple (TC) inputs. This temperature monitor conditions all field signals and evaluates them against user-programmable Alert and Danger alarm setpoints. Configured via the 3500 Rack Configuration Software, it handles isolated tip thermocouples, 3-wire RTDs, 4-wire RTDs, or combined TC/RTD arrangements. In Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) setups, monitors operate in adjacent groups of three, utilizing dual voting methodologies to maintain high operational integrity and eliminate single-point failures.   • Firmware Verification: Ensure that the 3500/22 transient data interface module firmware stands at Revision 1.50 or later, and matching configuration software is updated appropriately to support module additions.
  • Wiring Separation: Do not attempt to hook up external termination blocks if an internal termination I/O module architecture is used.

Can the 3500/65 monitor be programmed with both RTD and TC inputs simultaneously?

Yes. The 3500 Rack Configuration Software allows the monitor to be set up to accept a combination of thermocouple and RTD inputs across its 16 channels.

What is the consequence of updating monitor firmware without pulling out the I/O module?

Upgrading the monitor firmware while the I/O module is still attached will cause an I/O Module Mismatch and a 562 ADC Failure to trigger in the System Event List.

Are external termination blocks supported on the 3500/65-01-CN module variant?

No. External termination blocks cannot be used with internal termination I/O modules such as the 01 option.
