In many turbines and gearboxes, the probe end is submerged in lubricating oil. Standard cables can act like a "straw," allowing oil to seep through the internal gaps of the cable and eventually leak into the control cabinet. FluidLoc® seals the internal cable structure to prevent this.

Can I cut this cable to a shorter length if it's too long?

No. The 3300 XL system is a tuned resonant circuit. The capacitance and inductance of the cable are calculated into the vibration reading. Cutting the cable will change the impedance, causing significant errors in the vibration measurement or making the system completely non-functional.
