Description

The Bently Nevada 330851-02-000-070-90-00-05 is a non-contacting proximity probe belonging to the 3300 XL 25 mm Proximity Transducer System. Designed for differential expansion (DE) measurements on mid-size to large steam turbine generators, the probe observes target movement caused by growth rate differences between the turbine rotor and machine stator. It provides standard sensitivity output over its linear range when connected to a compatible extension cable and Proximitor Sensor. Built with a specialized FluidLoc cable and high-temperature ClickLoc connector, the probe withstands harsh thermal and moisture conditions inside turbine casings.

Installation Guidelines

  • Tighten M30x2 threaded probe case locknuts to the recommended torque of 68 N-m (50 ft-lb); do not exceed the maximum rated torque of 163 N-m (120 ft-lb).
  • Maintain a minimum cable bend radius of 25.4 mm (1.0 in).
  • Secure connectors finger-tight; do not exceed 0.565 N-m (5 in-lb) connector torque.
  • Always install connector protectors to ensure 100% condensing humidity sealing and protect contacts against contamination.
  • Ensure target size meets or exceeds 61 mm (2.4 in) diameter flat AISI 4140 steel surface.
