Description

The Bently Nevada 330106-05-30-90-02-05 is a 3300 XL 8 mm eddy-current proximity probe configured for metric reverse-mount installations (M10 x 1 threads). Unlike standard forward-mount probes, this model threads into a mounting sleeve from the rear, making it ideal for applications with limited external access.

This configuration features a 5.0 mm unthreaded tip length, a 30 mm overall case length, and an integrated 9.0-meter (29.5-foot) coaxial cable. The 9.0 m total length allows for a direct connection to a 9.0 m Proximitor® sensor without an intermediate extension cable, reducing connection points in confined areas. The unarmored standard cable terminates in a gold-plated miniature male ClickLoc™ coaxial connector and includes Option 05 hazardous area approvals for international compliance.

Features

  • 8.0 mm eddy-current sensor tip calibrated for non-contact displacement and dynamic vibration measurements.
  • Reverse-mount design threads directly into a mounting sleeve from the back end.
  • M10 x 1 threaded stainless steel body with a 5.0 mm unthreaded tip and 30 mm case length.
  • Integrated 9.0-meter (29.5 ft) standard coaxial cable eliminates the need for a separate extension cable.
  • Gold-plated ClickLoc™ coaxial connector locks firmly without specialized tools.
  • Unarmored cable construction, optimized for routing inside protective field conduits.
  • Option 05 agency approvals cover CSA, ATEX, and IECEx hazardous area regulations.
  • Fully compatible with standard 3300 XL Proximitor® sensors (330180 series).

Applications

  • Radial shaft vibration and rotor dynamics analysis on fluid-film bearing machinery.
  • Thrust and axial shaft displacement monitoring on high-speed turbines, compressors, and pumps.
  • Keyphasor® speed and phase reference measurements on rotating elements.
  • Shaft motion and runout monitoring on hydroelectric generators.
  • API 670 machinery protection systems within power generation and petrochemical processing plants.

Installation Guidelines

  • Install the probe by threading it into the rear of a Bently Nevada mounting sleeve or custom adapter block.
  • Verify thread depth; do not exceed 15 mm of thread engagement length to prevent mechanical binding.
  • Maintain a minimum probe-to-probe separation distance (at least 40 mm for axial sensors, 38 mm for radial sensors) to prevent cross-talk interference.
  • Hand-tighten ClickLoc™ connectors until an audible click is achieved; do not use pliers or excessive torque.
  • Route standard, non-armored cables through protective metal conduit to safeguard against mechanical wear or environmental damage.

Compliance and Certifications

  • CSA Certified: Class I, Zone 0, 1, 2; Groups A, B, C, D
  • ATEX Certified: II 1 G Ex ia IIC T4/T5 Ga

Bently Nevada 330106-05-30-90-02-05 3300 XL Reverse Mount Proximity Probe

What does the Option 90 signify on the 330106-05-30-90-02-05 proximity probe?

Option 90 specifies a total probe length of 9.0 meters (29.5 feet). This allows direct connection to a 9-meter Proximitor sensor without the use of an intermediate extension cable.

How does the reverse mount design of the 330106 probe differ from standard probes?

Unlike standard forward-mount probes that thread from the front, the 330106 reverse-mount probe threads in from the rear (M10 x 1 threads). It is commonly screwed into a mounting sleeve for deep or hard-to-reach machine housings.

Can this probe be used in hazardous locations?

Yes, with the Option 05 approval code, this probe holds hazardous area certifications from CSA, ATEX, and IECEx for intrinsic safety installation.

What cable type is supplied with this specific configuration?

This configuration comes with Option 02, which includes standard 75 ohm coaxial cable and a miniature ClickLoc connector without a connector protector. It does not feature stainless steel armor.
