Installation Guidelines

1. 1 Verify that the target PC meets all minimum system requirements for TIA Portal and WinCC RT Professional V17, including operating system version, CPU, RAM, and available hard disk space.
2. 2 Insert the installation DVD into the PC. If autorun is disabled, manually run the setup executable file. Follow the on-screen instructions provided by the Siemens setup wizard to install the software.
3. 3 After software installation is complete, insert the supplied USB flash drive containing the license key into an available USB port on the target PC.
4. 4 Launch the Siemens Automation License Manager (ALM) utility. In the ALM, select the USB drive as the source and the local hard drive (C:\ or other) as the destination. Drag and drop the license key to transfer it to the PC.
5. 5 Once the license transfer is confirmed as successful in the ALM, safely eject and remove the USB flash drive. Store the original DVD and USB drive in a secure location for archival and recovery purposes.
