The CP6931-0000-0000 is directly backward compatible with older installations using Beckhoff DVI-E and USB-E 1.1 signals, but to leverage full 480 Mbit/s high-speed USB 2.0 throughput, the panel must be paired with a corresponding CU8801 USB Extended transmitter unit at the PC side. If replacing a CP6911 or similar legacy panel, confirm that your existing cabinet cutout matches the current standard 12-inch dimensions, as bezel tolerances have become tighter in newer revisions.
While DVI-E signal integrity is highly stable, routing the RJ45 USB-E 2.0 signal through standard networking switches or hubs will cause immediate communication failures. The connection between the transmitter and the CP6931 must be a dedicated, point-to-point, unswitched copper link. Furthermore, if the unit is installed in environments with ambient temperatures consistently exceeding 50 degC, ensure a clearance of at least 50 mm behind the rear sheet-steel cover to prevent localized thermal throttling of the display driver.
To prevent touchscreen drift or intermittent USB dropouts, use only double-shielded STP (Shielded Twisted Pair) Cat.6 cables for the USB-E link. Connect the cable shield comprehensively to the metallic RJ45 connector housing at both ends. Additionally, ensure that the 3-pin 24 V DC power connector is grounded directly to the machine's central PE busbar using a low-impedance wire (minimum 1.5 mm²) to suppress common-mode electromagnetic interference.
