Product Description

Description

The BECKHOFF EL3122 is a 2-channel analog input EtherCAT Terminal designed for highly precise measurement of current signals in the 4 to 20 mA range. Both channels operate as differential inputs, providing a high-resolution 16-bit digital representation of the measured physical values. This terminal is integrated into the EtherCAT system via the standard E-bus connection, enabling fast communication and high-speed data acquisition.

To ensure optimal signal processing, the BECKHOFF EL3122 supports Distributed Clocks (DC) for highly synchronized sampling across the network. It features flexible configuration options, including activatable digital filters (FIR/IIR) to smooth input signals and eliminate high-frequency interference. Additionally, the terminal supports limit value monitoring and offers both standard and compact process images to optimize network bandwidth utilization.

Features

  • Two differential analog input channels.
  • Precise 16-bit resolution (including sign) for high-accuracy measurements.
  • Standard 4 to 20 mA signal current range.
  • Distributed Clocks (DC) support for microsecond-level synchronization.
  • Configurable digital filters (FIR and IIR) and limit value monitoring.
  • Compact 12 mm housing width with status indicator LEDs.
  • Electrical isolation of 500 V between the E-bus and the signal path.

Applications

  • High-speed industrial process monitoring and control.
  • Precise current measurements from field transmitters, flow meters, and pressure sensors.
  • Synchronized data acquisition in distributed control system topologies.
  • Analog sensor integration in hazardous locations (Zone 2).
