Installation Guidelines

1. De-energize the System: Ensure all electrical power supplies (both E-bus and field power contacts) are completely switched off before mounting, removing, or wiring the module.
2. DIN Rail Mounting: Mount the ELM3142-0000 on a standard 35 mm DIN rail (EN 60715). Utilize the double slot and key connection on the side for secure adjacent terminal locking.
3. Wiring Connections: Connect conductors to the push-in terminals. Solid conductors can be plugged in directly. Fine-stranded wires or ferrules require spring actuation using a small screwdriver. Ensure wire strip length is between 8 and 9 mm.
4. Service Plug Handling: Use the integrated 4-pin service plug for channel connections. Verify all signal lines are correctly mapped according to your electrical diagrams before energizing.
5. E-Bus Verification: Power on the system and verify the functional LEDs. Confirm diagnostic indicators are green and the terminal is recognized in the TwinCAT system manager via the EtherCAT network.
