The BECKHOFF EP9300-0022 EtherCAT Box is an industrial-grade gateway designed to couple standard digital and analog EtherCAT Box modules (EPxxxx series) directly to PROFINET RT networks. This device enables decentralized I/O configuration directly in the field without the need for an electrical control cabinet, optimizing space and reducing wiring overhead.
Operating as a PROFINET RT device, the BECKHOFF EP9300-0022 converts incoming PROFINET telegrams into the EtherCAT physical layer (E-bus) format. It manages process data exchange and handles the automatic configuration of connected downstream modules. The dual-port interface allows flexible network topologies in line or tree structures.
Designed for survival in extreme industrial environments, the module features a fully potted, sealed housing that conforms to IP65, IP66, and IP67 ratings. This protection ensures resistance to wet, dusty, and high-vibration environments commonly found in material handling, packaging, and assembly machinery.
