Installation Guidelines

1. Ensure that the BECKHOFF KM2004-0002 is compatible with your current K-bus coupler or controller model.
2. Completely de-energize the electrical cabinet and all field supplies before starting installation.
3. Align the module with the 35 mm DIN rail (conforming to EN 60715) and press until the locking mechanism engages securely.
4. Join the unit to adjacent Bus Terminals using the double slot-and-key connection on the sides of the terminal housing.
5. Strip your connection wires (solid or stranded) to the specified 8 mm length.
6. Insert the wires into the pluggable 1-wire terminal blocks according to your wiring schematic, then insert the pluggable blocks into the module housing.
7. Reapply system power and check the integrated diagnostic LEDs to verify operational state and correct polarity.

Replacement Recommendations

When replacing a faulty terminal block, power down the system completely. Carefully label and remove the pluggable 1-wire connectors from the front of the unit without disturbing the field wiring. Release the locking tab from the DIN rail and slide the module out of the slot-and-key configuration. Install the replacement BECKHOFF KM2004-0002, slide it to couple with adjacent terminals, reconnect the pluggable terminals, and restore power.
