When replacing older Omron digital process meters (such as legacy K3NX units), note that the 1/8 DIN panel cutout dimensions are matching, but terminal designations and wiring terminal block arrangements are completely different. External event input levels may also require scaling adjustment within the internal parameters of the K3HB software menu compared to predecessor models.
In environments with high-frequency electromagnetic interference, such as adjacent to variable frequency drives (VFDs) or heavy motor contactors, the high-speed 20 ms sampling system of the K3HB is susceptible to visual display jitter. It is highly recommended to shield input lines, ground the shield at only one point, and adjust the digital filter parameter (digital filter average processing) within the K3HB's setup memory to stabilize the readout.
For precise scaling, set up the input range first before applying voltage to the signal inputs. Use the linear conversion parameters to define the physical high/low limits. Ensure that the terminal screws are torqued to 0.5 N-m to maintain secure connection integrity under thermal expansion and industrial vibration.
