Description

Process temperature monitoring within the Modicon M241 system is managed via the Schneider Electric TM2ARI8LT analog input module. This hardware expansion unit provides eight dedicated channels for high-density temperature measurement using resistance temperature detectors (RTDs).

The module interfaces directly with standard PT100 and PT1000 sensors. It processes the analog thermal signals and transmits digitized temperature data directly to the host PLC CPU backplane. Equipped with removable connection terminal blocks, this expansion unit simplifies integration, maintenance, and wiring swaps on the factory floor.

Installation Guidelines

• Ensure all electrical power is disconnected from the PLC backplane before mounting or removing the module.
• Mount the module vertically onto a standard 35 mm DIN rail within a protective industrial enclosure.
• Utilize shielded, twisted-pair cabling for all RTD sensor runs to prevent external electromagnetic noise from degrading signals.
• Keep low-voltage sensor cabling separated from high-voltage motor and power distribution wiring.
• Properly ground the cable shields at the entry point of the electrical cabinet.
