Installation Guidelines

CRITICAL WARNING: Installation and maintenance must be performed by qualified personnel only. Failure to de-energize the system before installation can result in severe electrical shock, injury, or death. Always adhere to local and national safety regulations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  1. 1 De-energize Equipment: Before beginning installation, completely disconnect and lock out all power sources to the control cabinet or panel where the PC will be installed. Verify the absence of voltage.
  2. 2 Prepare Panel Cutout: Ensure the mounting cutout in the enclosure panel matches the required dimensions for the Panel PC 670. Clean the mounting surface to ensure a proper seal.
  3. 3 Mount the Unit: Insert the Panel PC into the cutout from the front of the enclosure. Secure it from the rear using the provided mounting clamps, tightening them evenly to the specified torque to ensure a uniform seal.
  4. 4 Connect Power: Connect the provided U.S. mains cable to the unit's power input terminal. Route the cable away from high-noise sources like VFDs or motor leads.
  5. 5 Establish Ground Connection: Connect the chassis ground terminal to the enclosure's protective earth (PE) bus bar using a low-impedance conductor. This is critical for safety and noise immunity.
  6. 6 Connect Peripherals: Connect any required network, USB, or serial communication cables. Ensure proper cable shielding and grounding practices are followed for all data lines.
  7. 7 Final Check and Power-Up: After all connections are secure, remove the lockout/tagout devices and re-apply power to the cabinet. Verify that the Panel PC boots correctly and establishes communication.
