Installation Guidelines

CRITICAL WARNING: This is legacy hardware. The internal hard drive and its data are irreplaceable. Always create external backups of critical project files and software licenses before and after field use. The internal battery for BIOS settings may be depleted and require replacement.
  1. 1 Initial Inspection: Before powering on, visually inspect the unit for any signs of physical damage incurred during transport. Check that all port covers are secure.
  2. 2 Power Connection: Use only the provided power cable or a compatible, grounded AC power cord. Connect to a stable power source. Avoid using ungrounded outlets or extension cords not rated for the device.
  3. 3 Operating Environment: Operate the Field PG on a stable, flat surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit to prevent overheating. Keep the device away from sources of high EMI/RFI, excessive vibration, and moisture.
  4. 4 Interface Connection: When connecting to PLCs or other industrial equipment, ensure the target device is properly grounded. Use high-quality, shielded communication cables. Connect and disconnect cables carefully to avoid damaging pins.
  5. 5 Shutdown Procedure: Always use the operating system's shutdown procedure to power down the Field PG. Abruptly cutting power can lead to data corruption on the hard drive.
