Installation Guidelines

CRITICAL WARNING: Always ensure the target industrial equipment is de-energized and follows local Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures before making any physical connections. Connecting to live equipment can result in electric shock, equipment damage, and unintended machine operation.
  1. Visually inspect the Field PG and all cables for any signs of shipping damage before use. Do not operate if damage is apparent.
  2. Place the device on a stable, level surface in a clean, dry environment, ensuring adequate ventilation around the chassis.
  3. Connect the provided power line cable to the Field PG and then to a properly grounded AC power outlet that matches the device's electrical requirements.
  4. Power on the Field PG and allow the Windows operating system to fully load before launching any engineering software.
  5. Connect the included MPI cable between the appropriate port on the Field PG and the target SIMATIC controller or automation device.
  6. Configure the communication interface within the STEP 7 software (Set PG/PC Interface) to establish a connection with the controller.
