  3. 3 Connect Protective Earth (PE): Connect a low-impedance protective earthing conductor to the designated grounding terminal on the switch chassis. A proper ground connection is critical for safety and noise immunity.
  4. 4 Terminate Power Supplies: Connect the primary and, if used, redundant power supply cables to the M12 power connector. Verify the voltage and polarity match the device's specifications before connection.
  5. 5 Connect Network Cables: Connect the Ethernet cables to the appropriate M12 ports. Ensure connectors are fully seated and tightened to the manufacturer's recommended torque to maintain the IP65 rating. Use the included dust caps for any unused ports.
  6. 6 Connect Signaling Contact: If required, connect the wiring for the error signaling contact to the designated terminals. This allows for remote monitoring of the switch's health status.
