Installation Guidelines

CRITICAL WARNING: Hazardous voltages may be present. Installation, modification, or removal of this module must be performed only by qualified electrical personnel. Failure to de-energize the system and follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures before servicing can result in severe injury or death.
  1. 1 Ensure all power to the SIMATIC S7-300 rack and associated equipment is disconnected at the source. Apply appropriate LOTO devices as per site safety policy.
  2. 2 Verify the absence of voltage using a properly rated test instrument before proceeding.
  3. 3 Identify an available slot on the S7-300 mounting rail. Align the module with the rail and hook its top edge before pivoting it downward to snap securely into place.
  4. 4 Slide the module horizontally to engage with the adjacent module's bus connector. Ensure the bus connector is fully seated to establish a reliable backplane connection.
  5. 5 Connect the AS-Interface network cable to the designated port on the front of the module. Ensure the connection is secure.
  6. 6 After all connections are made and verified, remove LOTO devices and restore power to the system for commissioning.
