Description

The Yokogawa SDV531-S33 is an 8-channel, 24 V DC safety-related digital output module designed for integration into Yokogawa ProSafe-RS safety instrumented systems (SIS). This high-reliability module provides galvanic module isolation and outputs discrete ON/OFF status signals to safeguard and control critical field equipment.

Equipped with autonomous field wiring diagnostic functions, the Yokogawa SDV531-S33 actively protects process environments. When a short-circuit fault occurs on the field side, the module automatically drives the corresponding output channel to an OFF state. After the line fault is cleared, the output channel can be securely restored via an intentional system Output Enable Operation to resume running application logic values. Without this deliberate enable command, the channel remains locked in its designated fail-safe value to ensure plant security.

  • Cable Restrictions: When utilizing this specific interface adapter configuration, option codes for pressure clamp terminal blocks and MIL cable connectors are incompatible and must not be used.
  • Grounding Considerations: For optimum noise immunity and reliable safety metrics, floating the field power supply is recommended. If grounded, note that the functional system ground links directly to the field ground.
