Description

Unarmored 1/4-28 UNF threaded probe body with 0.2 in unthreaded length (Option 02) and 4.7 in case length (Option 47) defines the 330901-02-47-10-01-00 3300 NSv Proximity Probe. This non-contacting eddy-current transducer is equipped with a 1.0 m total length cable (Option 10) terminating in a miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector with an integrated connector protector (Option 01), configured with no hazardous area approvals (Option 00). It acts as a sensor to measure dynamic shaft vibration, radial position, axial (thrust) position, or phase reference speed by generating a small electromagnetic field at the probe tip.

While other configurations in the 3300 NSv series offer armored cables (such as the 330902 series) or FluidLoc options for process gas sealing, the 330901 series provides standard unarmored FEP-insulated coaxial cables ideal for confined environments where physical armor is unnecessary. Sibling options with miniature connectors without the connector protector (Option 02) or those certified for explosion-proof applications (Option 05) are distinct from this standard, non-certified, connector-protected probe. This sensor is specifically engineered for machinery with tight clearances, small targets, or reduced counterbore envelopes where standard 5 mm and 8 mm transducer systems cannot be accommodated.

Installation Guidelines

• Mounting Hole Preparation: When drilling and tapping a mounting hole for a 1/4-28 probe, a #3 or larger tap drill is recommended.
• Case Torque Limits: Do not exceed 7.3 N m (65 in lb) of torque during installation of 1/4-28 probe cases to avoid casing deformation.
• Thread Engagement: Do not exceed the maximum recommended thread engagement of 0.375 inches for 1/4-28 UNF threads to prevent physical binding.
• Connector Care: Keep Gold-plated ClickLoc connectors dry and free from grease. Ensure they are locked securely by pushing until they click.
• Moisture Protection: The pre-installed fluorosilicone connector protector should be seated over the probe-to-extension-cable connection to block moisture and turbine oil ingress.
