ENGINEERING AND CONFIGURATION GUIDELINES

Slot assignment logic:
In SILworX configuration software, the physical placement of the module must strictly match the logical definition of “Left” or “Right” CPU slots to ensure system consistency.

Redundancy synchronization:
In redundant architectures, both CPU sides operate as a single logical system. Communication parameters must remain fully synchronized to avoid state mismatch.

Address configuration:

  • 3964R protocol supports manual or automatic data block addressing.
  • BUSCOM (Modbus TCP) typically operates within address ranges 0–2048 and 4096–8192.

Online modification rules:
Configuration changes are only permitted during runtime when reloadable code has been generated, allowing non-stop operation during updates.

COMMON TECHNICAL NOTES

Address conflict handling:
If BUSCOM and 3964R address ranges overlap, the system automatically shifts base addressing to resolve conflicts without manual intervention.

Fiber communication support:
The standard F 8621 uses RJ45 copper interfaces. Fiber connectivity requires external media converters or dedicated interface modules.
