The TSXP57363AM is a Unity-native processor. When replacing older PL7-programmed processors (such as the TSX57353M), the control application must be converted using the EcoStruxure Control Expert database converter. Note that memory allocation structures differ significantly between PL7 and Unity; verify that unlocated variable mappings are properly configured post-conversion.
With a high current draw of 1900 mA on the 5 V DC backplane, this module places a significant load on the rack power supply. When designing or expanding a rack containing this processor alongside high-density analog or communication modules, perform a strict power budget calculation. Ensure the rack is powered by a robust supply module, such as the TSXPSY5500 or TSXPSY8500, to prevent voltage drops and subsequent processor resets.
When commissioning the integrated Ethernet port, ensure that the IP address is correctly assigned via the rotary switches on the module or through the BOOTP/DHCP server configuration. Always use double-shielded twisted pair (STP) cabling for the Ethernet connection to mitigate electromagnetic interference (EMI) from adjacent variable speed drives or high-power contactors inside the enclosure.
CRITICAL WARNING
Always de-energize the entire rack assembly before inserting or removing the processor module. Hot-swapping a double-format processor can cause permanent damage to the backplane connectors and corrupt the internal flash memory.
Verify that the rack power supply is completely switched off and locked out.
Align the TSXP57363AM module with the two designated slots on the Premium rack (typically slots 0 and 1).
Gently push the module straight back until the backplane connectors are fully engaged.
Tighten the two captive mounting screws at the top and bottom of the module to secure it to the rack frame and establish proper ground continuity.
Connect the Ethernet, USB, or terminal port cables, ensuring proper strain relief is applied.
