The SDCS-POW-1 is a switched-mode power supply board designed for use in DCS 500 converter modules. Mounted directly on the electronic support framework, this unit functions in a flyback configuration to generate all required internal DC operating voltages for the SDCS-CON-2 main control board and associated electronic peripheral boards. Installation Guidelines

  • Voltage Verification: Ensure the AC supply selection switch (SW1) is set to match the incoming mains line voltage (115 V AC or 230 V AC) prior to applying power to prevent hardware damage.
  • Line Potential Hazard: Note that high voltage line potential is present across specific internal components of the board. Disconnect and lock out all primary power sources before servicing.
  • Encoder Power Configuration: When utilizing an SDCS-CON-2 control board without an SDCS-IOB-3 I/O board alongside a pulse encoder, hardware jumpers X3, X4, and X5 must be manually configured to the proper voltage level matching the encoder's specifications.
  • Mains Buffering Extension: To extend ride-through capability beyond the standard 30 ms buffer window, external capacitance modules can be wired directly to the designated X95 backup supply terminals.
