  • Oscilloscope Not Required: System verification can be completed using only a standard digital multimeter. Dynamic vibration amplitudes are determined by peak-to-peak DC voltage outputs from the Proximitor Sensor.
  • Voltage Alert: This specific unit (-02 power option) requires a 190-250 Vac line supply. Do not operate on standard 110 Vac power grids, as the electric drive motor will lack the necessary torque to reach rated speeds.

Important Field Safety & Operation Advice

  • Tip Damage Prevention: Never adjust probe clearance while the wobble plate motor is running. Always set the baseline gap with the motor stopped to avoid catastrophic damage to the ceramic probe tip at high cpm.
  • Linearity Calibration Steps: Mount the probe in the micrometer assembly. Move the target until it contacts the probe tip, then back away in 10-mil increments. Ensure the Proximitor Sensor DC output changes by exactly 2.0 VDC per 10 mils for standard 200 mV/mil systems.
  • Surface Maintenance: Keep the AISI 4140 steel target surface clean and free of oil, grit, or rust. Surface imperfections introduce mechanical and electrical runout that compromises calibration data.
