Description

The GE Multilin 269PLUS-DO-100P-120 is a digital motor management relay engineered for adaptability across a diverse range of AC motor protection applications. This device features automated operational adaptation, enabling it to continually learn and update critical motor parameters such as acceleration time and cool-down rates to optimize protection configuration for individual medium-sized motors. These learned parameters, alongside relay setpoints, motor statistical data, and pre-trip values, are securely retained within non-volatile memory to guarantee data integrity during control power interruptions. As a drawout version, the 269PLUS-DO-100P-120 permits direct removal from service for maintenance or testing without requiring the host motor to be shut down. When integrated with a compatible GE Multilin meter, the relay expands its diagnostic capabilities to incorporate non-volatile memory protection functions driven by Power Factor, voltage, kVars, and voltage-sensed phase reversals.

Features

  • Automated parameter tracking continuously learns acceleration time and cool-down rates for optimized individual motor protection.
  • Non-volatile memory storage preserves learned motor statistics, relay setpoints, and pre-trip configurations during loss of control power.
  • Drawout construction enables hardware removal from service without interrupting active motor operations.
  • Dedicated contact arrangement comprising one set of alarm contacts, one set of Auxiliary 1 contacts, and one set of Auxiliary 2 contacts.
  • Dual monitoring capabilities for multiple motor starts to assist in structural thermal stress detection and operational analysis.
  • Integrated emergency restart potential accompanied by user-configured pre-trip warnings and preventative alarms.
  • Stator winding and bearing overtemperature thermal tracking through programmable overload curves and specialized FlexCurve layouts.
  • Support for expanded voltage and power metering functionality when paired with an external GE Multilin meter.

Applications

  • Comprehensive protection and management for medium-sized AC motors.
  • Temperature-critical installations requiring explicit stator winding and bearing monitoring.
  • Continuous-duty manufacturing environments where drawout maintenance capabilities prevent operational downtime.
  • Voltage and power factor-sensitive power distribution networks utilizing cooperative external metering systems.

Installation Guidelines

  • Moisture and Dust Protection: To achieve the designated NEMA 12 / IP53 rating, ensure the enclosure interface is fully sealed in accordance with the specified guidelines during panel integration.
  • Drawout Operation: Refer to the instruction manual reference 1601-0013-D3 for specific mechanical interlock procedures during insertion or removal of the drawout chassis while the motor remains operational.
  • Analog Signal Routing: Because the analog current output is non-isolated and functions as an active source, proper shielding and isolation procedures must be applied to external receiving equipment to avoid ground potential variance

What is the specific composition of the RTDs used in this device?

The device utilizes 100P RTDs, which are composed of 100 Ohm Platinum.

Does the device maintain its learned parameters if control power is disconnected?

Yes, learned motor parameters, relay setpoints, motor statistical data, and pre-trip values are stored in non-volatile memory and remain intact when control power is lost.

What is the benefit of the drawout version compared to the standard version?

The drawout version allows operators to physically remove the relay from service for testing or maintenance without having to shut down the connected motor.

What communication protocol does the device use for data exchange?

The device communicates using a subset of the Modbus RTU protocol.
