How do I configure the module for 4-20 mA instead of 0-20 mA?

The range selection is handled via the software configuration in Proficy Machine Edition (or PAC Machine Edition). Once configured, the module automatically scales the internal counts (0-4000) to the selected physical current range.

Does this module require external power for the loops?

Yes. The IC200ALG322 requires an external +24 VDC "User Power" supply. This power is used to drive the current through the field loops. If this power is missing, the outputs will remain at 0 mA regardless of the PLC's logic state.

What happens to the output if the PLC is switched to STOP mode?

The behavior is configurable. You can set the channels to "Hold Last State" or "Output Default." In "Output Default" mode, you can specify a safe current value (e.g., 4 mA) that the module will output if communication with the CPU is lost.
