Connections and Interfaces

The field wiring terminals are located inside the housing cover on the Proximitor sensor module. A standard three-wire connection connects the PROXPAC XL to the machine monitoring system:

• Power (-Vtx)
• Signal (OUT)
• Common (COM)

Grounding is facilitated through the stainless steel grounding liner and retaining plate inside the enclosure.

Installation Guidelines

• Mounting: Secure the sleeve using the 3/4-14 NPT mounting thread (Option 02). Proper sealing of the casing entry thread is recommended to prevent process fluid leaks.
• Probe Gapping: Adjust the probe depth within the sleeve. The recommended installation gap is 1.27 mm (50 mils) from the shaft surface, which corresponds to the mid-point of the linear operating range.
• Conduit & Wiring: Route field wiring using appropriate conduit. Since Option 00 specifies no fittings, ensure proper entry glands or flexible conduit connections are used to maintain the IP66 and Type 4X ratings.
• Moisture Prevention: Ensure all plugs, washers, and housing cover screws are fully torqued. Apply sealing methods to the conduit entry to prevent condensation from traveling through the conduit into the PPS housing.
• Torque Ratings: Sleeve Locknut: 39.3 N-m (350 in-lb); Retaining Nut: 29.5 N-m (260 in-lb).
