Connections and Interfaces
This probe is equipped with an integrated miniature coaxial male ClickLoc connector on the cable end. It provides low-loss 75-ohm transmission of high-frequency radio signals between the probe tip and the extension cable. The gold-plated brass connector features an interface that locks securely in place to prevent loosening from vibration. The installed fluorosilicone connector protector seals the connection point against moisture, dirt, and process fluids.
Installation Guidelines
- Ensure the coaxial cable is routed with a minimum bend radius of 25.4 mm (1.0 in) to prevent transmission loss or physical damage.
- Apply the recommended mounting torque of 11.3 N m (100 in-lb) when installing the 3/8-24 UNF-2A probe case. Never exceed the absolute maximum rated torque of 33.9 N m (300 in-lb).
- Tighten the coaxial ClickLoc connectors finger-tight, then torque to 0.56 N m (5 in-lb) of torque using proper installation tools if required.
- Limit the thread engagement of the 3/8-24 thread to 0.563 in (14.3 mm) to prevent binding or thread deformation.
- Slide the provided fluorosilicone connector protector completely over the connection point to isolate the coaxial interface from exposure to machine fluids and humidity.
