The NS5-SQ10B-ECV2 features an upgraded LED backlight assembly that replaces the older, obsolete CCFL backlight variants (such as the standard NS5-SQ10B-V2). This hardware iteration is fully backward-compatible. Existing screen software projects built for older V2 models can be transferred directly to the ECV2 unit via CX-Designer without database conversion, though updating the system program (firmware) version of the target panel to match the latest runtime version is highly recommended to prevent touchscreen coordinate offset issues.
When housing this display in enclosed control cabinets, ensure adequate passive convection ventilation. The panel is rated to operate up to 50 degC, but prolonged operation above 45 degC inside tight spaces alongside hot components like power supplies or motor drives can accelerate backlight decay. Keep a minimum 100 mm clearance around the rear chassis of the screen.
Always run the 24 VDC power supply lines through a dedicated noise filter if the system is positioned near high-frequency inductive loads or variable frequency drives (VFDs). Connect the physical functional ground (FG) terminal directly to a low-resistance, single-point industrial earth ground to avoid static touch anomalies or communication packet losses on the RS-232C ports.
CRITICAL WARNING:
Before initiating panel cut-out, mounting, or electrical terminal wiring, fully de-energize the main control cabinet feed. Ensure the 24 VDC power supply is completely isolated. Verify the absence of residual charges on the terminal block lines to protect internal CMOS processing components from electrical overstress.
Prepare the panel enclosure using the official template cut-out dimensions for 5.7-inch NS5 HMI hardware (typically 184 mm wide x 131 mm high).
Ensure the waterproof gasket is correctly seated in the groove around the HMI bezel before inserting the device to maintain IP65 protection ratings.
Insert the mounting brackets (supplied) into the slots on the top and bottom of the HMI housing, then tighten the screws evenly to a recommended torque of 0.5 to 0.6 Nm to prevent casing distortion.
Connect the 24 VDC power input cables (minimum wire gauge 2.0 mm2 or AWG 14 recommended) to the HMI power terminal blocks and ground the FG terminal properly.
