AKS 33 vs AKS 3000: Checks Before Replacing a Pressure Transmitter

A field checklist for distinguishing Danfoss 060G2105, 060G1323 and 060G2109 by pressure range, fitting, loop signal and controller scaling.

Two Danfoss pressure transmitters can share the same -1 to 12 bar range and still be mechanically different. The 060G2105 and 060G1323 are a good example. Both provide a 4–20 mA signal, but their pressure fittings and series data are not interchangeable.

Read the complete order code

The label must match the purchase order. Do not identify the transmitter only as “AKS” or by pressure range.

Order code Series Pressure range Pressure connection
060G2105 AKS 33 -1 to 12 bar Male G 3/8, EN 837
060G1323 AKS 3000 -1 to 12 bar Male 7/16-20 UNF, 1/4-inch flare
060G2109 AKS 33 0 to 16 bar Male G 3/8, EN 837

The first two models share a measuring range. Their threads do not. An adapter changes installation height and adds another sealing point. Confirm the fitting before ordering.

Check the current loop before replacing the transmitter

Danfoss specifies a 4–20 mA output and a 9–32 VDC supply for these order codes. Pin 1 is positive supply. Pin 2 is common.

  1. Record the controller value and the measured loop current.
  2. Measure supply voltage at the transmitter under load.
  3. Inspect the connector for moisture, corrosion, and loose terminals.
  4. Check cable continuity before disconnecting the pressure fitting.
  5. Confirm the controller scaling matches the installed pressure range.

A zero-current reading usually directs the investigation toward power, wiring, or an open loop. It does not prove the pressure element has failed.

Compare pressure with loop current

Use an appropriate pressure reference and follow the plant’s isolation procedure. Depressurize the connection before removing the transmitter.

For a linear 4–20 mA loop, the expected current is:

Current = 4 mA + 16 mA × (measured pressure − lower range) ÷ span

For 060G2105 and 060G1323, -1 bar corresponds to 4 mA. Twelve bar corresponds to 20 mA. The span is 13 bar.

For 060G2109, zero bar corresponds to 4 mA. Sixteen bar corresponds to 20 mA.

Compare several points across the range. A single point cannot distinguish offset error from span error.

Use clipping values as evidence, not a diagnosis

Danfoss lists low and high clipping levels of 3.6 mA and 22.4 mA. A reading near either limit deserves investigation. Check the process pressure, supply voltage, and controller scaling before replacing hardware.

Record the replacement details

Keep the complete order code, pressure range, thread, connector, supply range, and controller scaling in the maintenance record. Photograph the old label before removal. This prevents a same-range transmitter with the wrong fitting from reaching the job site.
