ABB 07 DC 92 (07DC92), order number GJR5 2522 00 R0101, is a remote digital input/output module for the AC31 automation system and CS31 system bus. Unlike fixed I/O modules, all 32 channels can be individually configured by the user program as digital inputs, digital outputs, or re-readable outputs, providing exceptional flexibility for distributed control applications.
The module divides its 32 channels into four electrically isolated groups with eight channels per group. Each output uses transistor technology with a nominal load capacity of 500 mA and incorporates electronic overload and short-circuit protection. Built-in diagnostic functions, channel status LEDs, and communication monitoring assist maintenance personnel during commissioning and fault investigation.
The ABB 07 DC 92 occupies two digital addresses on the CS31 system bus and can also be configured as a dedicated output module when input addresses are not required. This flexibility makes the module suitable for machine automation, process control systems, utility installations, and industrial modernization projects requiring distributed field I/O.

Installation & Commissioning Guide
Field commissioning of the ABB 07 DC 92 usually begins with verification of the DIL address switch, CS31 bus wiring, and 24 VDC power connections. The module reads its address configuration only during power-up initialization, therefore any address change requires a restart before it becomes effective.
Install the module vertically with the connectors facing upward and downward. Natural convection cooling must remain unobstructed by cable ducts, power supplies, or other cabinet components.

During startup all LEDs illuminate briefly while the module performs initialization. If the CS31 bus is not operating correctly, the red fault LED flashes continuously. Before replacing the module, engineers should verify address settings, bus polarity, controller configuration, and cable continuity.
If an overload or short circuit occurs, the affected output channel is automatically switched off by the protection circuitry. The corresponding channel LED flashes until the fault condition is removed and the output is reactivated.
