Description
The General Electric IC693MDL310 is a 120 VAC, 0.5 Amp discrete solid-state AC output module designed for the GE Fanuc Series 90-30 programmable logic controller system. It provides 12 output circuits organized into two isolated groups of six points each. Because each group incorporates an independent common connection that is electrically separated from the other inside the module, the groups can operate on distinct phases of an AC power source or draw from a single shared supply.
Each output circuit integrates an RC snubber network to suppress power line transient noise and voltage spikes. The module provides high inrush current tolerance rated at up to 10 times continuous load current (5 Amps peak for one AC cycle), allowing direct operation of inductive and incandescent loads such as contactors, motor starters, indicator lamps, and solenoids. Field power to energize output loads must be provided externally by the user.
The IC693MDL310 installs into any standard I/O slot of a 5-slot or 10-slot Series 90-30 baseplate, including CPU baseplates, expansion baseplates, and remote baseplates. The hinged faceplate door contains an insert card that provides internal terminal wiring diagrams on the reverse side and user identification labeling on the outer surface, bordered by a red edge to designate high-voltage AC field wiring.

Installation and Wiring Guidelines
- Turn off power to the baseplate and field circuits prior to inserting or removing the module or servicing fuses.
- Ensure field AC power is routed through appropriate external disconnects, as the module does not supply output power from the backplane.
- Group 1 uses points A1 through A6, while Group 2 uses points B1 through B6; do not bridge the respective commons if groups operate on differing AC phases.
- Route high-voltage AC field wiring separately from low-voltage DC communication and analog signal cables to minimize inductive coupling.
- Inspect the red "F" LED indicator during runtime to quickly identify an open fuse condition in either group.
