The HG-SN202J-S100 is engineered specifically for pairing with the MR-JE-200A and MR-JE-200B servo amplifiers. When replacing older HC-SFS series motors, confirm the shaft dimensions and encoder connector style, as the newer HG-SN series utilizes different termination plugs. Additionally, ensure the controller firmware is updated to recognize the 131072 pulses/rev incremental encoder built into this motor.
Although this unit is rated at IP67, the shaft passage is not fully waterproof. Overlooking the application of an appropriate gear-box seal or failing to maintain a downward-facing cable orientation can allow oil or moisture to collect at the shaft interface and eventually breach the motor housing. For continuous S1 duty cycles in enclosed control cabinets, ensure the mounting plate has a minimum surface area equivalent to a 400mm x 400mm x 12mm aluminum plate to serve as an adequate heat sink.
When wiring the HG-SN202J-S100, ensure you do not run encoder cables in the exact same conduit or wire duct as high-voltage motor power lines. Electromagnetic interference (EMI) can corrupt encoder feedback signals and trigger amplifier fault codes. It is highly recommended to use genuine, shielded Mitsubishi cable assemblies with correct grounding brackets. If the motor is mounted vertically, form a drip loop in the cables to prevent liquids from running down to the connectors.
