The unit includes a built-in J3 compatibility mode, enabling seamless retrofitting of older MR-J3-40B architectures without replacing existing servo motor physical runs. However, note that parameters must be migrated via MR Configurator2, and maximum bus speed will match the lower J3 performance characteristics unless the upstream controller is fully reconfigured to the SSCNET III/H native protocol.
When operating on a single-phase AC 200V line instead of a three-phase line, the power supply must be wired to L1 and L3 terminals (leaving L2 empty). Under single-phase configurations, the thermal dissipation characteristics within the electrical enclosure change significantly. Panel builders must ensure an active airflow buffer of at least 10 mm on both sides of the amplifier when mounting multiple units in a daisy-chain configuration.
The fiber-optic SSCNET III/H cables (MR-J3BUS) must never be bent past their minimum specified bend radius of 25 mm. Exceeding this limit will result in intermittent optical communication errors (such as AL.37 or AL.E6). Always use the dedicated CN8 shorting connector if the STO function is not integrated into an active safety PLC loop, or the amplifier will remain in a permanent STO block state.
Mount the amplifier vertically on a flat, grounded metallic backplate to ensure proper convective self-cooling behavior.
Connect the protective earth (PE) terminal first, utilizing a dedicated, heavy-gauge copper conductor to mitigate high-frequency EMI.
Route main AC power lines (L1, L2, L3) and control power lines (L11, L21) through a dedicated noise filter and circuit protection group.
Insert the optical network connections into CN1A and CN1B, ensuring they securely click into place with dust covers removed.
