Description

The Yokogawa SAI143-S33 is a high-reliability current input module designed for mounting on the safety node unit and safety control unit within the ProSafe-RS safety instrumented system. This module plays a critical role in safety functions by inputting 4 to 20 mA signals from field instruments directly into the Safety Control Station (SCS). It supports dual-redundant configurations to achieve enhanced system availability and fault tolerance. The SAI143-S33 features standard individual channel configuration pins for 2-wire or 4-wire transmitters and provides module isolation for its 16 processing channels.

  • False Insertion Prevention: When deploying option /PRP, utilize the specified matching field signaling cable variant equipped with the corresponding option /SAI143 to ensure functional physical key alignment.

Can Zener barriers be connected directly to the module?

No, Zener barriers cannot be connected to this module. An isolation barrier must be used when an intrinsically safe instrumented system is required.

What is the purpose of the transmitter power supply ON/OFF function?

This function allows the module to turn off the transmitter power supplied to all 16 channels simultaneously under a 2-wire setting, which enables resetting the alarm state of Fire and Gas devices.
