Description
Designed for seamless integration within the S800 I/O system, the ABB 3BSE008510R1 (DO810) provides reliable 24 V DC digital output control for process automation applications. This 16-channel current-sourcing module interfaces field-level actuators, relays, and indicators with the controller via the ModuleBus. Operating with high efficiency, the DO810 digital output module features electronic short-circuit protection and diagnostics to minimize system downtime in demanding industrial environments.
The module mounts directly onto a compatible Module Termination Unit (MTU), allowing for simple, tool-free field wiring. It supports hot-swapping under power, enabling swift module replacement without disrupting system operations. Galvanic isolation between the internal logic (ModuleBus) and field outputs ensures reliable signal isolation and protection of the host PLC/DCS controller.

Installation Guidelines
To ensure optimal performance and safe operation of the DO810 digital output module, adhere to the following installation instructions:
-
Mounting: Ensure the Module Termination Unit (MTU) is securely latched to the standard DIN rail before inserting the DO810 module. Do not force alignment pins during insertion.
-
Wiring: Route all field digital output cables away from high-voltage AC lines or power distribution cables to minimize electromagnetic interference.
-
Grounding: Connect the DIN rail to a low-impedance safety ground system. Proper grounding of the MTU is required for robust functional earth (FE) protection.
-
Ventilation: Maintain standard clearance gaps above and below the module assembly to allow natural convective cooling. Do not exceed the rated maximum operating temperature of 55 degC.
