Connections / Interfaces
The 1747-L511 processor includes a single 9-pin D-shell RS-232 port (Channel 0) located on the front panel. This communication port supports DF1 point-to-point, DH-485, Modbus RTU, and ASCII protocols, allowing direct connection to programming terminals, PanelView operator interfaces, or third-party devices. A keyswitch on the front panel enables quick switching between Run, Program, and Remote modes.
Installation Guidelines
Slide the 1747-L511 processor into the leftmost slot (Slot 0) of the primary 1746 I/O chassis, as required by SLC 500 system rules. Ensure power is removed from the backplane before inserting or removing the module. Secure the module using the top and bottom retaining screws, and verify proper battery connection before energizing the system.
