Description

Designed to meet stringent measurement requirements in industrial automation environments, the EL3751-0020 multi-function analog input EtherCAT terminal delivers high-precision signal acquisition. This module enables the acquisition of analog signals with high accuracy under harsh operational conditions. It features a single multi-functional input channel supporting differential connections across 2-, 3-, 4-, 5-, and 6-wire setups, making it highly versatile for interfacing with various industrial sensors, including strain gauges, RTDs, and potentiometers.

Operating with a high-resolution 24-bit analog-to-digital converter, this module achieves a sampling rate up to 10 ksps (kilosamples per second). With integrated distributed clocks, the terminal synchronizes measurement values with sub-microsecond precision across the EtherCAT network. It comes factory calibrated, ensuring reliable measurement accuracy straight from installation without requiring field calibration.

Features

  • High-precision 24-bit resolution with an integrated sign bit.
  • Fast conversion speed of 100 us per sample (10 ksps sampling rate).
  • Oversampling capability with a configurable factor of n = 1 to 64.
  • Distributed clock synchronization with jitter specifications well under 1 us.
  • Support for multi-wire connections (2-, 3-, 4-, 5-, and 6-wire) with differential inputs.
  • Integrated parameterizable power supply for strain gauge sensors (0.5 to 5 V).
  • Extended range performance of 107% with a free numeric filter, TrueRMS calculations, and an integrated peak-hold function.

Applications

  • High-speed weight and force measurement applications using strain gauges.
  • Precision temperature monitoring with multi-wire RTD sensors.
  • Test bench systems requiring fast, synchronized signal oversampling.
  • Industrial processes requiring high-end feedback control loops in machine building.
