Description

The BECKHOFF IP2020-B400 is an IP67-rated decentralized Fieldbus Box module designed for Interbus fieldbus networks, providing 8 digital output channels rated for 24 V DC operation. Engineered to interface binary automation control signals directly with process-level actuators without requiring an electrical control cabinet, it provides direct on-machine field switching using compact 8 mm snap-type connection plugs.

Each of the eight output channels supports load currents up to 2 A individually and includes built-in short-circuit and inverse-connection protection. The total aggregate load current across all outputs is rated at a maximum of 4 A, making the module well-suited for actuator groups—such as pneumatic valves, relays, contactors, and optical indicators—where outputs are switched alternately or where total concurrent current consumption remains within 4 A.

Communication is handled over the Interbus protocol at a transfer rate of 500 kbaud using standard 9-pin M23 connectors, featuring one female socket for incoming bus data and one male socket for downstream network looping. The module is housed in a PA6 polyamide enclosure meeting IP65, IP66, and IP67 protection ratings, permitting reliable operation in dusty, washdown, or mechanically challenging industrial environments. Device parameterization and diagnostics can be managed using the BECKHOFF KS2000 configuration tool.
