The BECKHOFF KL9540 is a Surge Filter System Terminal designed for integration within the Beckhoff Bus Terminal system (KL series). Positioned directly within the I/O block assembly, this 24 V DC system terminal filters supply voltages to protect field supply lines from high-frequency overvoltage, line noise, and electromagnetic interference (EMI).

By conditioning the 24 V DC power fed into the power contacts, the KL9540 safeguards downstream digital and analog Bus Terminals from transient voltage spikes and emissions. It operates seamlessly across Beckhoff K-bus architectures without taking up data mapping bytes, serving as an inline physical overvoltage protection node for sensitive automation fieldbus stations.
