The TP70-1A3 integrates a standard D4N series safety switch body. If the internal contact block suffers electrical wear or failure, the internal core mechanism can be replaced with a standard D4N-2187 unit, preserving the specialized mechanical C-clamp housing and flexible rod assembly. Always verify contact action configurations (typically snap-action or slow-action) when servicing internal units.
While flexible rod switches excel at multi-directional and irregular targets, ensure that operating speeds do not exceed the specified limit of 0.5 m/s. Exceeding this limit causes high-velocity kinetic whip-back of the rod, which can result in secondary contact bounce, electrical noise, or early mechanical metal fatigue of the spring joint. Do not use this switch as a mechanical hard stop; physical structural overrides must be implemented externally.
When wiring the screw terminals, use insulated M3.5 crimped ring or spade terminals to prevent stray wire strands from shorting inside the compact internal chamber. The conduit gland must be torqued to its manufacturer's specifications using appropriate sealing materials to maintain the IP65 environmental rating.
