Installation Guidelines

CRITICAL WARNING: HAZARD OF ELECTRIC SHOCK

Disconnect all power sources to the PLC rack and verify the absence of voltage using a properly rated test instrument before installing, removing, or wiring this module. Failure to de-energize the system can result in severe injury or death.

  1. Confirm the S7-300 rack is de-energized and locked out according to site safety procedures.
  2. Align the module with an empty slot on the S7-300 mounting rail, ensuring the bus connectors on the rear of the module align with the backplane connector.
  3. Slide the module onto the rail and press firmly until it is securely seated. Engage the mounting screw on the module front to secure it to the rail.
  4. Prepare and terminate field wiring onto the 20-pole front connector. Ensure correct polarity and secure connections for all output channels.
  5. Install the front connector onto the module, ensuring it is fully seated and secured by its locking mechanism.
  6. After all modules are installed and wired, remove the lockout/tagout and re-apply power to the system for commissioning.
