Installation Guidelines
CRITICAL WARNING: Disconnect all power sources and follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures before installation or maintenance. This equipment contains components sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD). Use appropriate ESD protection, such as wrist straps and mats.
-
1
Prepare Rack Space: Verify that the 19-inch industrial cabinet has at least 4U of vertical space available. Ensure adequate depth for the chassis and cable management. Check for proper ventilation and airflow around the installation point.
-
2
Mount Chassis: With assistance, carefully slide the IPC chassis into the rack. Securely fasten the front panel to the rack rails using all provided mounting screws to ensure mechanical stability and proper grounding.
-
3
Connect Peripherals: Connect monitors to the appropriate DisplayPort or DVI interfaces. Connect keyboard and mouse to the USB or PS/2 ports. Connect any required serial devices to the COM port.
-
4
Connect Network Cables: Connect shielded Ethernet cables to the RJ45 LAN ports for plant and terminal bus communication as required by the PCS 7 system architecture.
-
5
Connect Power: Connect the provided AC power cord to the industrial power supply unit on the rear of the chassis. Plug the other end into a conditioned, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) rated for industrial use.
-
6
Power On and Verify: Remove LOTO devices and restore power. Press the power button on the front of the unit and verify that the system boots into the Windows operating system and that the PCS 7 software environment loads correctly.
