Installation Guidelines

CRITICAL WARNING: RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK AND EQUIPMENT DAMAGE

Installation must be performed by qualified personnel only. Disconnect all power sources and follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures before accessing or installing this equipment. This device contains components sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD). Use proper ESD protection, including wrist straps and grounded mats, during handling and installation.

  1. 1 De-energize System: Before installation, ensure the control cabinet and all related power sources are completely de-energized, locked out, and tagged out to prevent accidental activation.
  2. 2 Mount the IPC: Securely mount the Microbox PC onto a standard DIN rail or a flat panel surface inside the control cabinet. Ensure adequate ventilation space around the unit as specified by the manufacturer for proper heat dissipation.
  3. 3 Establish Ground Connection: Connect the chassis grounding terminal to the main protective earth (PE) busbar of the control cabinet using a low-impedance conductor. A reliable ground connection is critical for safety and noise immunity.
  4. 4 Connect Communication Cables: Connect the PROFIBUS DP and Industrial Ethernet cables. Use appropriately shielded cables and ensure proper shield termination at one end to minimize electromagnetic interference (EMI). Route communication cables separately from high-voltage power lines.
  5. 5 Connect Power Supply: Connect the 24V DC power supply to the designated power input terminals. Verify the polarity is correct before applying power. Use appropriately sized wiring for the load.
  6. 6 System Power-Up: After verifying all connections, remove the lockout/tagout and re-energize the control cabinet. Monitor the IPC for correct boot-up sequence and status indicator activity.
