This device is supplied with Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit). The legacy STEP 5 programming software is not executable on this operating system and is not included. The hardware is also supplied without the S5 interface. Verify all project software requirements prior to use.

  1. 1 Unpack the Field PG and all accessories. Visually inspect the unit for any signs of shipping damage before connecting to a power source.
  2. 2 Select the correct line power cable for your region from the supplied options. Connect it securely to the power adapter and then to the Field PG.
  3. 3 Power on the device and complete the initial Windows 7 Ultimate operating system setup, including language and user account configuration.
  4. 4 Locate and manage the included software licenses. Note that STEP 7 and WinCC are licensed, but STEP 5 and STEP 7-Micro/WIN are not pre-installed. Install required engineering software from appropriate media.
  5. 5 Use the included MPI cable to establish a direct connection to compatible SIMATIC PLCs for programming, diagnostics, and online monitoring.
