Description
Processing temperature and electrical signals from hazardous areas requires specialized, intrinsically safe isolation. The Weidmuller 8965490000 ACT20X-HUI-SAO-S functions as a highly adaptable universal signal isolator and measurement converter, designed to condition, isolate, and convert analog signals from Ex Zone 0, 1, or 2 environments. This module accepts a wide range of inputs including RTDs, thermocouples, resistors, and active/passive current or voltage signals, converting them into standard active or passive current/voltage analog outputs.
Equipped with an integrated alarm relay, the device provides rapid fault signaling in the event of sensor errors or power loss. Configuration is managed via standard FDT/DTM software, allowing precise parameterization for diverse industrial applications. The compact 22.5 mm housing saves valuable DIN rail space while ensuring high galvanic isolation between the input, output, power supply, and relay contacts.

Installation Guidelines
-
Mounting: Snap securely onto standard TS 35 DIN rails in a vertical orientation to optimize heat dissipation.
-
Wiring Separation: Maintain a minimum distance of 50 mm between intrinsically safe (Ex i) field wiring and non-intrinsically safe power/control cabling.
-
Grounding: Ensure the DIN rail is properly bonded to the protective earth (PE) system of the enclosure.
-
Configuration: Perform software configuration and parameterization via the FDT/DTM interface prior to commissioning the system in hazardous environments.
