Description

The Yokogawa AAT141-S00 is a 16-channel isolated thermocouple and millivolt input module designed for FIO systems within CENTUM VP field control stations. It functions as a signal converter by inputting field temperature and voltage signals into internal data for the Field Control Station (FCS). The AAT141-S00 module receives signals from thermocouple types J, K, E, B, R, S, T, and N, as well as mV voltage spans ranging from -100 to 150 mV and -20 to 80 mV. It supports dual-redundant configuration and connects externally via a pressure clamp terminal block.

Features

  • 16 isolated input channels for thermocouple and mV signals.
  • Software-selectable TC/mV input types individually configured for CH1 to CH16.
  • Dual-redundant configuration capability.
  • Dedicated pressure clamp terminal external connection interface.
  • Software-configurable burnout detection (UP/DOWN/Not available) for all channels.

Applications

  • Process temperature monitoring using thermocouples.
  • Millivolt analog input signal interfacing in CENTUM VP FIO DCS environments.
  • High-reliability industrial control systems requiring isolated I/O modules.

Installation Guidelines

  • Use a non-ground type thermocouple (TC) because the device is an isolated type module; using ground type TC on multiple channels causes temperature errors due to multi-point ground.
  • Ensure proper installation onto supported ESB, Optical ESB, or ER bus node units.
  • Maintain matching wiring resistance for signal cables to ensure measurement accuracy.

Technical Datasheet

Yokogawa AAT141-S00 CENTUM VP TC/mV Input Module (16-channel, Isolated)

What input signal types are supported by the module?

The module supports thermocouple types J, K, E, B, R, S, T, and N, as well as mV voltage inputs ranging from -100 to 150 mV and -20 to 80 mV.

Why must non-ground type thermocouples be used with this module?

Because the module is an isolated type, using a ground type thermocouple across multiple channels causes temperature measurement errors due to multi-point grounding.

What is the maximum current consumption for the device?

The maximum current consumption is 450 mA at 5 V DC.
