Description

190501-10-00-00 Velomitor CT Velocity Transducer is specified with Option 10 mounting hardware (Plate Stud M6x1 to M6x1 with a 3/8-in 24 adapter), Option 00 standard top-mounted MIL-C-5015 connection interface, and Option 00 general-purpose configuration with no agency approvals. This low-frequency piezo-velocity sensor measures casing vibration velocity on cooling tower and air-cooled heat-exchanger fan assemblies operating at or above 90 rpm (typically 100 to 300 rpm). By capturing vibration amplitudes and frequencies generated by the fan motor and speed reducer, it supports early detection of mechanical issues such as unbalance and misalignment.

Unlike configurations carrying hazardous area certifications (Options 01 through 04) or using other stud sizes, the 190501-10-00-00 is suited for general-purpose, non-certified industrial environments. The M6x1 to M6x1 plate stud with a 3/8-in 24 adapter mounts on metric-threaded machine casings. Internal sensor electronics are electrically isolated from the 316L stainless steel case to prevent ground loop noise, maintaining signal integrity.

Features

  • Mounting Hardware: Plate Stud M6x1 to M6x1 with 3/8-in 24 adapter (Option 10) for direct installation on metric-threaded machinery.
  • Connection Type: Top-mounted 2-pin MIL-C-5015 connection interface (Option 00) constructed from 316L stainless steel.
  • Approval Option: General-purpose configuration with no agency approvals (Option 00) for non-hazardous zones.
  • Low-Frequency Range: Measures casing vibration from 1.5 Hz to 1.0 kHz (within +/-3.0 dB) or 3.0 Hz to 900 Hz (within +/-1.0 dB).
  • Calibration Sensitivity: Output of 3.94 mV/mm/s (100 mV/in/s) +/-5% at 100 Hz.
  • Housing Material: Hermetically sealed 316L stainless steel housing for environmental resistance.
  • Signal Isolation: Internal electronics are electrically isolated from the transducer case to prevent electrical noise interference.

Applications

  • Cooling tower fan casing vibration monitoring
  • Air-cooled heat-exchanger fan assemblies operating at or above 90 rpm
  • Low-speed industrial fans and blowers
  • Industrial rotating machinery diagnostics in non-hazardous general-purpose areas

Connections and Interfaces

The standard MIL-C-5015 connection interface provides electrical output signal connections as defined below:

Pin Function
Pin A Positive output signal (goes positive with respect to Pin B when velocity is from base to top of the transducer)
Pin B Negative/Return output signal

Installation Guidelines

  • Orientation: Can be installed in any mounting orientation. The transducer measures casing vibration along its sensitive axis.
  • Surface Preparation: The mounting surface must be flat and smooth, with a minimum diameter of 33 mm (1.3 in) to match the transducer base.
  • Mounting Torque: Tighten the transducer to a torque of 4.5 N-m +/-0.6 N-m (40 in-lbf +/-5 in-lbf) using the provided Plate Stud M6x1 to M6x1 with the 3/8-in 24 adapter.
  • Cable Support: Route and secure the interface cable to prevent mechanical strain on the MIL-C-5015 top connector.

Compliance and Certifications

  • General Purpose: This configuration (Option 00) is intended for general-purpose industrial applications and does not carry hazardous area certifications.
  • Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC): Complies with EMC Directive 2014/30/EU and FCC Part 15 regulations.
  • RoHS: Compliant with RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU.
