Description

Designed to facilitate point-to-point serial communication within Sysmac automation architectures, the Omron NX-CIF105 serves as a high-performance serial communications interface unit. Operating within the modular Omron NX-series platform, this module provides a single-channel interface for RS-422A and RS-485 serial communication networks. It supports no-protocol communication, allowing raw data exchange with peripheral industrial devices such as barcode readers, temperature controllers, and measuring instruments.

The unit features robust signal and power isolation to protect the internal PLC backplane from electromagnetic interference and voltage transients common in industrial environments. With its flexible I/O refreshing method (Free-Run refreshing) and configurable Process Data Object (PDO) data sizes ranging from 4 to 80 bytes, the module integrates seamlessly into distributed control configurations via an EtherCAT Coupler Unit or directly adjacent to an NX-series CPU Unit.

Installation Guidelines
