The GT2308-VTBA shares the identical 227 x 176 mm panel cutout dimensions of legacy models GT1665 and GT1565. This standardization allows for direct drop-in hardware replacement during control cabinet upgrades. When upgrading legacy applications, always use GT Works3 software to convert the source HMI project and update the PLC communication parameters to align with modern GOT2000 firmware dependencies.
Do not install the HMI in configurations where it will be continuously exposed to direct sunlight or temperatures exceeding the operational limit of 55 degC, as thermal saturation will degrade LCD response times and shorten the life of the non-replaceable LED backlight. Ensure that high-frequency motor control lines or VFD power cabling are routed separately from the HMI serial communication cables to prevent electromagnetic noise induction on the RS-422/485 serial bus.
For reliable ground loop suppression, connect the HMI protective earth terminal to a dedicated ground system using 0.75 to 2 mm² wire. Secure all AC input connections to the terminal block using M3 ring terminals (such as RAV1.25-3) and torque the terminal screws precisely to 0.5 to 0.8 N·m. Always back up the active HMI project directly to an external SDHC card or through GT Works3 prior to firmware updates.
CRITICAL WARNING:
Isolate and verify the de-energization of all power distribution blocks leading to the installation area before mounting or wiring the terminal. Contact with line voltage (100 to 240VAC) can cause catastrophic system failure, heavy electrical shock, or personal injury.
